Carrie is originally from Illinois, where she earned a bachelor’s degree at Wheaton College studying human needs and global resources. She grew to love experiential education during a semester and several summers at HoneyRock Camp in northern Wisconsin, where she led wilderness trips for junior high and high school students. Carrie’s work with adolescents spans 15 years, with a special focus on at-risk youth. After working at a residential home for street girls in South Africa, she knew that she wanted to help youth and their families in a holistic way. Since then, she has worked as a wilderness therapy field instructor in Utah, a summer club coordinator for refugee students in the Chicago suburbs, as a case manager at Chrysalis for two years, as the Chrysalis Admissions Director for five years, and as the Director of Outreach for over three years. She currently serves as Milestones Executive Director, and is grateful to work closely with families and staff during this important stage of treatment. She especially values getting outside with students and joining adventure days.
Carrie enjoys spending time with family and friends, and just about anything the great outdoors has to offer – especially hiking, skiing, biking, swimming, and camping. She loves living in northwest Montana, and enjoys teaching others about Milestones.
