Flathead High School

Flathead High School is less than one mile from Milestones, so students can walk, bike, or staff will provide transportation on colder days. There are approximately 1600 students enrolled in the school and 180 staff to support them. 

The Milestones residential manager works closely with the high school guidance counselor, and has access to PowerSchool, an online portal that shows grades, homework, GPA, attendance, and official reports. School runs from 8:15am-3:15pm, with seven 50-minute periods in the day. There are more than 50 extracurricular activities that students may choose with the advice of a school teacher.

Flathead High School has extensive course offerings, including an International Baccalaureate Program. Electives are offered to accommodate many interests, ranging from art to theater to automotive to jewelry-making, as well as several life skills classes such as personal finance and business.

Flathead Valley Community College

Flathead Valley Community College is located just three miles from Milestones, and is a lovely ten-minute bike ride with beautiful views of the mountains.

The Running Start programs allows students to complete high school courses while also getting college credit. This is a great opportunity for a student to gain college experience while also finishing high school. On average there is a 12:1 student-teacher ratio with 2,400 total students enrolled at Flathead Valley Community College. The first six credits are free, after that students are responsible for tuition and fees. Running Start students can use all the college resources available on campus including computer labs, tutoring services, intramural sports, and career services.
