Anne Higgins, LCSW
Clinical Director
Anne is a licensed social worker with years of experience in the clinical treatment of adolescents their families. She spent four years working with transitional youth in a crisis shelter setting, three years working in wilderness therapy, one year in inpatient psychiatric care, and another four years at a therapeutic boarding school before joining the Milestones team. Anne is a passionate outdoors woman with years of backcountry guiding before her work in wilderness therapy and she believes in the transformative experiences the natural world provides. She approaches therapy with a multidisciplinary lens, exploring mental health and wellness in the intersection of environment, psychology, physiology, and neurology. Currently, she is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and is certified in HeartMath, a modality that explores psychophysiology of stress, emotions, and the interactions between the heart and brain.
